NICOLE SALENGO, winemaker at Berryessa Gap, brings over a decade of experience and passion spanning two hemispheres and a wide variety of wineries to Winters, CA where she has resided since 2009. Originally from New England, she moved to Davis after college, and earned her winemaker's certificate from the UC Davis department of Viticulture and Enology to compliment her undergraduate study of Geology, she approaches her wines with a wealth of knowledge and artistry that starts with the land and ends in the bottle. Deeply passionate about the unique regional terroir of Yolo County, she is proud to showcase the best of Winters with her hands-on winemaking approach. She can often be found walking through the vineyard with her two dogs and meticulously checking the vines or tirelessly checking the barrels in the cellar, a work ethic that shows in her beautifully aromatic and award winning wines. Nicole invites you to share a glass of Sauvignon Blanc or Zinfandel, her favorite varieties, with her on your next trip to the winery ¡Salud!
