The French know this Bordeaux variety as Côt and our wine exhibits many of the herbal characters that are often associated with wines of that region. Density of flavor and body make Malbec a perennial favorite. Green tea and red plum come to our minds to describe this wine.
Syrah is most defined with France’s Rhone Valley. There, and here, it makes a full bodied wine with hints of smoke and ripe red fruits. I don’t know why but this always comes out when the meat hits the grill. Give it a try and you’ll be back for more.
This wine produced from the classic red wine of the Rioja region in Spain. Our version brings forward a dominant fruit characteristic of rich black cherry with aromatics of leather.
This wine reflects the California winemaking heritage of Petite Sirah that extends more than 100 years. As was the case then, the dominate variety is Petite Sirah (syn. Durif) but other traditional varieties are also included. The result is a sturdy multifaceted wine dominated by back berries and plums.
California's wine history is more defined by Zinfandel than any other one variety. Today it remains a favorite. Our Zinfandel has the aroma and flavors of a roadside blackberry patch on a summer day coupled with just a hint of sweet oak.
In making this wine we drew inspiration from the rosé wines of Southern France. The wine is finished dry and brings to mind juicy watermelon and strawberries. While great anytime, a warm evening, grilled salmon and a glass of Sunset at sunset sounds pretty good to me.
