Mike Anderson - Wine Maker

I was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and exposed, by my family, to the California wine industry at an early age.  In the pursuit of California’s wine history, my Uncle and I traveled to many wineries where I was seduced by the stories and aromas.

My family joined the Martinez family more than 40 years ago to create a grapevine nursery.  That relationship became a close friendship that, in 2002, created Berryessa Gap.

In addition to my role at Berryessa Gap I am also a viticulture researcher at UC Davis.  I take pleasure in my involvement in both the research and commercial sides of the wine industry.

Clint Crow - Sales Manager

Growing up in the heart of Napa Valley, it is hard to imagine a life not lived around the wine industry.  However, until I turned 22 wine was the furthest thing from my mind.  It was at that time that I began my journey into the wine business through a variety of means-namely working in some of the top restaurants from Napa Valley to the greater Sacramento area.  In that time, I worked with restaurant bars and wine programs, in addition to working with the Nation’s top liquor and wine distributor, Southern Wine and Spirits for five years.  Through those experiences I have had the incredible chance of meeting the “Family” behind Berryessa Gap Vineyards.  Having now been with them for almost two years, it has given me the chance to not only grow the business with our spectacular wines but to spread the word of the emerging Yolo County viticulture scene.

Valerie Crow - Hospitality Manager/Outside Sales

As a child, I grew-up playing in vineyards and eating grapes right off the vines.  I went to school in Napa Valley with a number of kids that came from families involved in the wine industry and play-dates at wineries were not uncommon.  Exposure to the industry at such an early age had a fairly profound impact on me and my eventual involvement in the wine business seems to have been a natural progression.  I first began to appreciate wine when I started working in fine dining and enjoyed being able to make suggestions of food and wine pairings to the guests that I served.  It became more of a passion when I started working at various tasting rooms and eventually for large distributors and wholesalers.  The hands-on knowledge that I gained was so thrilling and I enjoyed sharing what I had learned and experienced with friends and strangers alike.  It is such a privilege to be representing Berryessa Gap Vineyards because of the care and attention to quality that is put into each bottle.  All it takes is just one sip to know that Berryessa Gap wines are something special!
