SILVER - 2021 SF Chronicle Wine Competition
The 2018 Tempranillo from Berryessa Gap Vineyards draws you in with an abundance of delightful aromas - bursts of cherry, plum and hints of leather and vanilla. With a medium body and dry tannins that highlights the 2018 vintage and age-worthiness of this young Tempranillo, this wine will pair beautifully with your favorite Italian or Hispanic dishes. The silky and velvety finish delivers a highlight of oak and vanilla.
Our 2018 Tempranillo is located at the highest elevation on the Coble Ranch Vineyard. The Tempranillo bock consists of two different soil series, allowing for minerality and richness to be characterized in the finished wine. It was harvested in three lots and fermented in bins before being pressed in our traditional basket press. Once pressed, we aged the Tempranillo in twice used French oak barrels for 19 months.
