Wine Enthusiast "This tangy, appetizing and rather lean wine will be easy to pair with birds, beasts and pasta. It offers a refreshing, moderately tannic and mouth-watering balance as well as raspberries, cranberries and a touch of milk chocolate." - Jim Gordon, Editor
TASTING NOTES
Aromas of acacia and ripe raspberry mingle together to welcome the nose. A flash of ripe fruit kicks off the palate; followed by a cocoa powder, white spice, with hints of grapefruit and subtle white almonds wrap up a velvety finish well-balanced wine.
PRODUCTION NOTES
Our Estate Zinfandel grows in an isolated block of the vineyard with rocky alluvial soil that imparts a savory minerality and silky texture. Our 2018 Zinfandel grapes were harvested in three picks, coordinating with our three blocks. The grapes were grown on our estate Coble Ranch Vineyard, located in Winters, CA. We use the heritage Primitivo Clone in our Zinfandel block, which produces a lighter, more refined fruit profile than its counterparts. After the grapes were harvested and sorted they were fermented in small lots, then pressed in our traditional basket press. Once pressed, the wine was aged for 14 months in twice used French Oak barrels.
