2019 YOLO COUNTY PETITE SIRAH
TASTING NOTES
Our finest Petite Sirah - deep purple in color, this gorgeous wine has aromas of dark fruit and hints of coffee, cocoa and toasts from aging in new French oak. Rich flavors of chocolate and caramel dance on the palate as toasted hazelnuts round out the blackberries amidst chewy tannins and a lingering finish. This full-bodied wine will age beautifully. Pair with cassolette or wild game stews.
After small-lot fermentation, our 2019 Yolo County Petite Sirah was aged in once and twice used French oak for 16 months then barrel selected and aged in new and once used French oak for an additional 12 months.. This Petite Sirah comes from a block that is planted on the steepest hillside in our Coble Ranch Vineyard, increasing the flavor concentration in the grapes. This creates a bold flavor profile due to the increased skin to juice ratio which intensifies the tannin structure and color in the finished wine.
