2020 SONOMA COAST CHARDONNAY
TASTING NOTES
Aromas of vanilla complimented with subtle hints of lightly toasted hazelnut, baking spice and butter cream. Well-balanced without overwhelming the palate, it has prominent flavors of green pear, lemon curd and peach nectar with notes of ripe pineapple. Exquisitely nuanced with a smooth, round finish.
PRODUCTION NOTES
Our 2020 Chardonnay was harvested from the Antonio Mountain Vineyard in the Petaluma Gap in Sonoma County, a vineyard coveted for its high-quality grapes. Petaluma Gap’s geographical and geological features make this location an ideal place to plant grapes. Thanks to a cooling wind from nearby bodies of water, it is uniquely situated to enhance the quality of the grapes.
After harvest, the fruit was sorted, then pressed whole-cluster using a Vaslin Bucher Bladder press for minimal oxygen exposure. After pressing, the juice was cold-settled for three days, then inoculated with a proprietary yeast blend, and fermented in 50% new and 50% once-used French oak barrels. The wine also went through a full malolactic conversion and was stirred sur lies to enhance the structure and body.
